Alkhair Foundation has initiated an emergency humanitarian response in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq following floods that caused widespread damage to homes and livelihoods. The intervention forms part of a response plan designed to address the essential needs of affected families.
The response included the distribution of food baskets to families impacted by the flooding, aiming to support food security and ease living burdens amid the emergency conditions caused by the disaster.
These interventions fall within the Foundation’s rapid response framework activated during natural disasters. Assistance is directed based on field needs assessments and implemented in coordination with local partners to ensure support reaches the most affected populations.
