Alkhair Foundation has launched the first phase of the restoration of Al-Abbasiya Mosque in the Tyre area of southern Lebanon. The initiative aims to rebuild the mosque after its destruction due to conflict and to restore its religious and social role within the community.
The current phase includes essential restoration work and structural rehabilitation, paving the way for subsequent stages of the project. These efforts are intended to return the mosque to its natural function as a place of worship and community gathering.
This project reflects Alkhair Foundation’s vision of supporting communities in their own regions and strengthening humanitarian work that goes beyond emergency relief. It extends to reconstruction and the restoration of spaces that provide reassurance, social stability, and dignity, ensuring people can practice their religious rituals in a safe environment.
