Project Idea
Provide safe and dignified housing for poor families who have no adequate shelter, easing hardship and ensuring minimum safety, stability, and decent living conditions.
Project Justification
- Many homes of poor families are severely deteriorated and cannot be repaired or restored, and families cannot rebuild due to poverty.
- Many families live in rental houses that are not suitable for safe living.
- Limited financial allocations from governmental entities for these families.
Project Objectives
- Build a house for a poor family in Salah al-Din Governorate.
- Contribute to creating a healthy and safe environment for the family.
Beneficiaries
Direct beneficiaries: Orphan and poor families who own houses that require complete rebuilding.
Indirect beneficiaries:
- The local community in general.
- Workers in construction and building trades.
Project Location

- District/Subdistrict: Al-Duluiya / Al-Baij (Subdistrict)
Salah al-Din Governorate is located in central Iraq, north of Baghdad. Its center is Tikrit, and major cities include Samarra and Balad. The governorate area is about 23,398 km² (around 5.6% of Iraq). Population is approximately 1,595,235, with a rural share close to 55%.
General Eligibility Criteria
- The family must reside within the targeted geographic area.
- The family must be classified as poor and in need of assistance.
- The family currently lives in an unsafe/unfit house that cannot be maintained, or lives in rented housing and is unable to pay rent while owning land.
- The house or land must be fully owned by the family.
- Total land area for the house should not exceed 250 m².

- A poor family obtains safe housing suitable for a dignified life.
- Documented success stories.
