1. Mecca: The Heart of Hajj

Praise be to Allah who made His House a sanctuary and a place of safety, honoring Abraham’s station. Allah commanded people to proclaim Hajj, and the believers responded.
As Allah says:
"And Hajj to the House is a duty that mankind owes to Allah – for those who can find a way to it" [Al-Imran: 97]
Makkah Al-Mukarramah is more than a location; it is the spiritual starting point where hearts meet in devotion, reverence, and deep faith.

2. Learning from the Prophet ﷺ: Following the Sunnah

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Take from me your rituals" (Muslim)
Hajj provides an opportunity to learn the rites accurately, understand their wisdom, and emulate the Prophet ﷺ in every action.

3. Sincerity and Following: The Basis for Acceptance

To have Hajj accepted, two principles are essential:

  • Sincerity: All actions are for Allah alone, without showing off, as Allah says:
"They were commanded only to worship Allah, being sincere to Him in religion" [Al-Bayyina: 5]

  • Following: Performing rituals exactly as taught by the Prophet ﷺ, as Allah says:
"Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day" [Al-Ahzab: 21]

4. Preparing for Ihram: Practical and Spiritual Steps

  • Men: Perform ghusl (ritual washing), wear the ihram garments or any clean alternatives, and leave other clothing aside. If the standard ihram is unavailable, this is permissible without sin.

  • Women: Maintain modesty and purity, avoid veils and gloves, and cover the face only if there is fear of being observed.

5. Respecting the Miqat: Time and Place

Adhering to the designated miqat (station) is obligatory, whether the pilgrim is from Yemen or another country, to ensure the validity and acceptance of Hajj.

6. The Spiritual Rewards of Hajj

Hajj is more than a physical journey:

  • Forgiveness of sins; returning as if newly born (authentic hadith)

  • Spiritual closeness to Allah and renewed faith

  • Inner peace and tranquility

Conclusion

Hajj is the journey back to Allah from Mecca, where hearts learn sincerity, humility, and following the Prophet ﷺ. Each step teaches a lesson, and every moment is an opportunity to renew devotion and draw closer to Allah.
