Amid the escalating humanitarian crises, thousands of women in various displacement areas are facing harsh conditions that threaten their most basic human rights and make securing essential needs a daily struggle.
Yet the suffering of women in Gaza remains among the most severe.
Thousands of women are now living a reality beyond description:
More than 21,000 women have become widows.
More than 12,500 women have lost their lives during the war, including over 9,000 mothers.
And despite the gravity of these numbers, they still do not tell the full story… the reality is even harsher and more painful.
Most women in Gaza have been forced to flee at least four times, living without stability or safe shelter. Even a tent has become a luxury that many women do not have.
In one out of every seven households in Gaza, a woman is now the primary provider for her family after losing the main breadwinner, while facing increasing responsibilities and extremely difficult living conditions.
In Gaza…
Women are often the last to eat, the last to wear proper clothing, and the last to find a place to sleep.
Many women are even forced to remain in their prayer clothes most of the time, due to the lack of appropriate clothing for cold or hot weather. Meanwhile, basic personal needs for women remain an invisible struggle that many people do not see.
Through our field teams who listen closely to the stories and daily needs of women, Alkhair Foundation launched a humanitarian project aimed at supporting women facing these difficult circumstances.
After successfully completing the first phase, we are now launching the new phase of the project:
Women’s Dignity Pack – 2
to deliver support to the most vulnerable women in Gaza and displacement areas such as Lebanon and Sudan.
It is a comprehensive humanitarian package designed to respect women’s privacy and meet their essential needs, helping restore a sense of dignity and respect despite the harsh conditions.
