Project Idea

Rehabilitate and improve sanitation facilities in public schools—especially girls’ schools and those with limited infrastructure. The project includes repairing restrooms, rehabilitating water sources, and addressing causes of contamination to ensure facilities are suitable for daily use, protect students’ health, and support regular attendance and continuity of learning.

Rationale

• Some schools have poorly functioning sanitation facilities and water sources that do not meet students’ daily needs.
• Lack of adequate sanitation is a barrier to regular attendance—especially for girls.
• Without intervention, health issues inside schools may worsen, particularly hygiene- and water-related diseases.

Beneficiaries

• 250–300 students.
• School teaching and administrative staff.
