Zahraa Attaallah (29 years old) is a young woman who survived a massacre that claimed the lives of 12 members of her family.

Her husband was injured and lost his ability to perform physically demanding work. She lost her home and was displaced more than 20 times, until she finally settled in a single room inside her brother’s house.

She survived… to dream again.

Zahraa is striving to obtain her long-delayed university degree through her own efforts. She is also drawing on three years of experience in crafting handmade dolls, clothing, scarves, hats, graduation flower bouquets, and luxury bags (including children’s and Syrian-style bags).

Since the age of 15, driven by her deep passion for handicrafts, she has completed training courses in traditional and modern embroidery as well as sewing.

Handcrafting was never just a hobby — it was a talent that matured over time and became a project she dreams of growing.

Zahraa hopes to secure:

  • Various types of yarn in large quantities

  • Two crochet hook sets (20 hooks in different sizes)

  • 30 stitch markers

  • 10 sewing needles in different sizes

  • Large and small sewing scissors

  • Fiber filling for dolls

  • Reinforced wires

  • Doll safety eyes

  • A silicone glue gun

  • Special flowers for graduation bouquets

  • Satin ribbons

  • Decorative crystals

  • A ring light

  • A simple photography setup

  • A small sewing machine

  • A handmade crochet swing for dolls (she already has ready-made models)

  • A small solar panel or power source

Zahraa dreams of building her own crochet brand. She seeks continuous development and has a vision to expand her project by employing widows — especially wives of martyrs — allowing them to work from their homes, with monthly meetings for guidance and product exchange. It is a project that needs hands as much as it needs opportunity.

The estimated cost of the equipment she needs ranges between $2,000 and $3,000.

With your support, Zahraa can transform her pain into creativity, threads of yarn into a source of income, and a small project into a workspace that offers other women a chance to live with dignity.
